Aspectos biológicos y clínicos para comprender mejor al osteosarcoma

RESUMEN
El osteosarcoma es una neoplasia de origen óseo-maligna que se presenta comúnmente en la segunda década de vida. En México, la información disponible en relación con esta patología se enfoca principalmente al área clínica, sin embargo, es fundamental conocer los aspectos moleculares involucrados en este proceso patológico. En esta revisión se muestra un panorama general de la información clínica y epidemiológica del osteosarcoma y se aborda, de manera más detallada, el conocimiento generado en relación con los mecanismos moleculares implicados en el desarrollo de esta enfermedad.
