FRAGMENTO
La artroplastía de recambio por infección, ya sea en uno o dos tiempos, no es para un cirujano inexperto. La morbilidad y mortalidad asociadas a este tipo de cirugía no deben ser ignoradas. Es esencial que en su realización participen médicos con un interés particular en infecciones. El trabajo en un equipo multidisciplinario con microbiólogos, infectólogos, anestesiólogos intensivistas, cirujanos plásticos y cirujanos ortopédicos es fundamental para el éxito de la cirugía.
