RESUMEN
El protocolo ERAS (
Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) es un protocolo basado en la evidencia clínica; en él se describen las recomendaciones para el paciente en las diferentes etapas del proceso perioperatorio. La implementación del protocolo reduce la tasa de complicaciones, mejora la recuperación funcional del enfermo y reduce los costos y días de estancia hospitalaria. El objetivo de este artículo es revisar los conceptos actuales relacionados al protocolo ERAS.
