Respecto al tratamiento clásico del paciente con cáncer de recto y factores de riesgo (ganglios linfáticos metastásicos), en estudios prospectivos y sorteados se ha demostrado que la administración posoperatoria de quimioterapia y radioterapia mejora el control local y la sobrevida al hacer la comparación con pacientes tratados con cirugía radical.
