Uso de edulcorantes no caloricos en niños

RESUMEN
Se analiza la normatividad (Normas Oficiales Mexicanas) que existe en relación a la denominación de los distintos tipos de edulcorantes, el uso de edulcorantes no calóricos sintéticos o naturales en la población mexicana, particularmente desde el nacimiento hasta el término de la pubertad, con especial énfasis en los aspectos que conlleva, como determinar que su uso en humanos es seguro (puntos consecutivos de investigación que se llevan a cabo), así como la posibilidad de utilizarlas en estas etapas de la vida.
Se analizan para cada tipo de edulcorante no calórico disponible en México los estudios que se han realizado en niños buscando específicamente efectos secundarios sobre el crecimiento y el desarrollo.
