Genética y enfermedad cerebrovascular isquémica

RESUMEN
Los avances en el conocimiento del genoma humano han permitido el desarrollo de las investigaciones sobre los factores de riesgo genético en la enfermedad cerebrovascular isquémica. Se hace una revisión de la literatura mundial acerca del tema. Se precisó que en los trastornos poligénicos la expresión fenotípica es la suma del polimorfismo genotípico con los factores del medio ambiente y la comorbilidad. Las investigaciones se han extendido a los factores genéticos pero aún subsisten discrepancias en estos estudios, por lo que es necesario continuarlos, valorando los subtipos de enfermedad cerebrovascular isquémica, sobre todo en sujetos jóvenes, a fin de hallar aquellos que realmente inciden en la génesis de esta afección.
