Comportamiento de pacientes con gonartrosis tricompartimental

RESUMEN
Fundamento: la gonartrosis tricompartimental constituye un reto para todos los médicos que la enfrentan a diario, ya que está asociada a varios factores que no permiten obtener los mejores resultados en las diferentes modalidades de tratamiento.
Objetivo: mostrar el comportamiento de pacientes con gonartrosis tricompartimental.
Método: se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo de corte transversal en 35 pacientes con el diagnóstico clínico, radiográfico y artroscópico de gonartrosis tricompartimental en el Hospital Universitario Manuel Ascunce Domenech de Camagüey, desde el 1ro de diciembre de 2012 hasta el 28 de febrero de 2013.
Resultados: predominó el sexo femenino sobre el masculino y el grupo de edades de 40-49 años. El 51,4 % de los pacientes fueron clasificados en grado 4 según los criterios de Kellgram JH y Lawrence JS. Predominaron los pacientes con lesión de cartílago tipo IV según la clasificación de Outerbridge RE. Todos los pacientes estudiados presentaron factores asociados dentro de los que se destacó el dolor al reposo. El lavado articular fue el procedimiento artroscópico más empleado.
Conclusiones: predominó el sexo femenino y la enfermedad se asoció a los más altos grados de las clasificaciones radiográficas y artroscópicas. El lavado articular fue el tratamiento más empleado.
