Fisura anal: Alternativas de tratamiento farmacológico

RESUMEN
La fisura anal es una laceración ovoidea del anodermo, cuyo factor desencadenante es la sobredistensión del conducto anal; está
asociada con hipertonía del esfínter anal y reducción del flujo sanguíneo, lo que ocasiona una pobre respuesta a la cicatrización.
Se han propuesto algunas formas de manejo farmacológico, en virtud de que el tratamiento quirúrgico conlleva a un pequeño
riesgo de incontinencia anal leve. Entre los fármacos más utilizados se encuentran: la nitroglicerina, el dinitrato de isosorbide, la
nifedipina, el diltiacem y la toxina botulínica. Ante la presencia de una fisura anal severa o cuando el tratamiento farmacológico
fracasa está indicado el tratamiento quirúrgico.
