Introducción
La enfermedad por reflujo gastroesofágico (ERGE) está relacionada estrechamente con la obesidad; de hecho, hasta el 45% de los pacientes con obesidad mórbida la padecen. Debido al incremento en la prevalencia de la obesidad en el mundo, el impacto en la etiología y el tratamiento de la ERGE se han convertido en un punto importante. Existen muchos estudios que reportan la asociación de la ERGE con el incremento en el índice de masa corporal.
