FRAGMENTO
El trasplante cardiaco es un tratamiento efectivo de la fase terminal en pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca. El éxito de esta terapéutica se debe en gran medida a los avances de la inmunosupresión, incluyendo el uso de la ciclosporina. Sin embargo, la sobrevida del paciente trasplantado se encuentra siempre bajo el riesgo del rechazo o bien de la vasculopatía coronaria. Por otro lado, el estudio del metabolismo y la reinervación en el corazón trasplantado han logrado captar la atención de los investigadores en los últimos años. Las diferentes técnicas de imagen con radionúclidos que permiten el estudio del sistema nervioso autónomo en el corazón y del metabolismo cardiaco son fundamentales para evaluar cuantitativamente estas variantes fisiológicas en el corazón trasplantado.
