El control neurotrófico en el desarrollo y la función de dos órganos endocrinos: el ovario y el páncreas

RESUMEN
Las neurotrofinas (NTs) son indispensables para la sobrevivencia,
la diferenciación y la función de neuronas simpáticas y sensoriales
del sistema nervioso central y periférico. Sin embargo,
se han descrito funciones similares de las NTs en órganos no
neuronales. El factor de crecimiento neuronal (NGF) participa
en la foliculogénesis y la ovulación en el ovario, así como en la
morfogénesis del islote y en la secreción de insulina por la célula
β pancreática. Las NTs median sus funciones al unirse a dos
diferentes tipos de receptores transmembranales: los Trks y el
p75. Ambos tipos de receptores inducen la activación de cascadas
de señalización que finalizan con sobrevivencia celular o
apoptosis. En esta revisión se describen diferentes acciones de
las NTs en el ovario y el páncreas.
