Definición
La cefalea tipo tensional (CTT) es de todas las cefaleas primarias la más frecuente y se caracteriza por ser opresiva, en la mayor parte de las veces de localización bilateral, con menor asociación a náusea, vómito, fonofobia o fotofobia, sin tendencia a incrementarse con la actividad física, al compararla con migraña; puede ser episódica o crónica y relacionarse o no a dolor de músculos pericraneales.
