Señalización de la leptina

RESUMEN
La obesidad es una enfermedad que forma parte del síndrome
metabólico y la cual se ha descrito como un problema
de salud pública en nuestro país y zonas industrializadas
a nivel mundial. El entendimiento de los factores que conllevan
al desarrollo de dicha enfermedad es esencial para
su tratamiento. El producto del gen de la obesidad, la leptina,
es el responsable de mantener el equilibrio energético en
los animales. Esta revisión tiene como objeto describir la
vía de señalización de la leptina y las moléculas involucradas
en ella, así como determinar las perspectivas
farmacológicas y nutricias para el tratamiento de la resistencia
a la leptina que acompaña a la obesidad.
