Fracturas transcervicales desplazadas en pacientes mayores de 65 años: Artroplastia total versus hemiartroplastia

RESUMEN

Las fracturas desplazadas del cuello femoral en pacientes mayores de 65 años siguen siendo un reto para el cirujano ortopedista, ya que se debe otorgar al paciente el tratamiento ideal; sin embargo, en la actualidad no se cuenta con una evidencia 1-A del tipo de implante a elegir entre la hemiartroplastia o la artroplastia total, generando así controversia entre los diversos autores y entre los cirujanos ortopedistas. Nuestro servicio considera que ambos implantes son adecuados y que estas controversias pueden ser minimizadas a sólo unos cuantos casos aislados si se siguen las pautas de lineamientos para cada implante, tomando en cuenta el contexto del paciente y considerando como base el algoritmo propuesto por el servicio.
