Prevalencia de Ureaplasma urealyticum en mujeres

RESUMEN
Diversos estudios indican que la colonización vaginal con
Ureaplasma
urealyticum puede estar asociada con el desarrollo de vaginosis
bacteriana, enfermedad inflamatoria pélvica, septicemia post-parto
y ruptura prematura de membranas.
Ureaplasma urealyticum presenta
una prevalencia de colonización de 40 a 80% en el tracto genital
bajo en mujeres embarazadas. Es cierto que 80% de mujeres pueden
ser colonizadas con este microorganismo, pero sólo una pequeña
proporción de estas mujeres desarrollan corioamnionitis.
Ureaplasma
urealyticum fue aislado en 31% del total de las muestras. Por medio
de la técnica de PCR se detectó, en 42% de las muestras, el
producto de amplificación (429 pb) que permite identificar la
presencia de
Ureaplasma urealyticum.
