Introducción
Siendo los pólipos uno de los precursores más identificados del carcinoma de colon, durante varias décadas ha existido un esfuerzo importante en la temprana identificación y en el tratamiento de esta patología con el objeto de evitar su progresión hacia el cáncer. Los pólipos pueden presentarse, y no son una excepción, en todo el tubo digestivo y en el colon, y es en este segmento intestinal, donde se encuentra la mayor posibilidad de asociación con enfermedades malignas.
