Utilización del fijador externo Pennig en el tratamiento de fracturas del extremo distal del radio en adultos

RESUMEN

Se realizó estudio retrospectivo en el Hospital ABC en 27 pacientes adultos con 29 fracturas distales del radio tratadas con fijación externa dinámica con el fijador externo Pennig entre mayo de 1994 y abril de 1998. Catorce (48.27%) pacientes tuvieron resultados excelentes, ocho (27.58%) buenos, cuatro (13.79%) regulares y tres (10.34%) malos. Las complicaciones fueron mínimas. El tiempo de inmovilización varió entre cuatro y 13 semanas con promedio de siete semanas. La mayoría de los pacientes (75.85%) evolucionó favorablemente. La fijación externa dinámica es un método adecuado en el manejo de fracturas complejas del extremo distal del radio.
