Modulación de la expresión de enzimas del citocromo P450 hepáticas durante las etapas fetal y pediátrica

RESUMEN
Los citocromos P450 (CYP450) son las principales enzimas de fase I, involucradas en el metabolismo de xenobióticos y sustratos endógenos. Las familias de CYP450 1, 2 y 3 desempeñan un papel crucial en el metabolismo y excreción de fármacos. Los miembros de las familias de CYP450 1 y 2 se encuentran en concentraciones bajas o ausentes en etapa fetal, su expresión aumenta después del nacimiento hasta alcanzar su máxima expresión en la etapa adulta. Mientras que los miembros de la familia CYP450 3 son los principales citocromos en el hígado humano en todas las etapas del desarrollo. Los cambios de expresión de CYP450 en las diferentes etapas del desarrollo humano pueden contribuir a la respuesta farmacológica y/o toxicológica de fármacos de importante uso clínico. Esta revisión integra información de la expresión de enzimas CYP450 hepáticas durante el desarrollo fetal hasta la edad adulta.
