Vagotomía y respuesta inmune

RESUMEN
Sabemos que el sistema inmune es la primera línea de defensa contra patógenos invasores, por lo que su funcionamiento
apropiado es primordial para la vida. Asimismo, el sistema nervioso central interactúa con el sistema inmune para modular
la inflamación a través de vías humorales y neuronales. En esta investigación se presentan los hallazgos recientes sobre la
interacción del sistema nervioso e inmune, la descripción de la vía colinérgica anti-inflamatoria y las perspectivas clínicas de
su conocimiento, los efectos de la vagotomía en humanos y animales, su uso terapéutico en medicina y sus perspectivas
como modelo para el estudio de la respuesta colinérgica anti-inflamatoria.
