Dosis efectiva de radiación en angiotomografías coronarias mediante protocolo de adquisición con gatillado prospectivo y ajuste de potencial de tubo de acuerdo con el índice de masa corporal

RESUMEN
Objetivo. Conocer la dosis efectiva de radiación en estudios de angiotomografía coronaria utilizando un protocolo de adquisición con gatillado prospectivo y ajuste del potencial de tubo (kV) de acuerdo con el índice de masa corporal (IMC).
Metodología. Serie de casos.Se incluyeron estudios de pacientes de angiotomografía coronaria realizados mediante adquisición con gatillado prospectivo del 1 de marzo al 31 de julio de 2011. Se determinó la dosis efectiva de radiación para cada paciente. Se utilizaron estadística de tendencia central y asociación.
Resultados. 34 pacientes,53% hombres, edad promedio 51.9 + 9.9 años. En 16% de los casos se utilizaron 100 kV. En el grupo que utilizó 100 kV la dosis efectiva fue 4.4 mSv y en el grupo que utilizó 120 kV fue 6.8 mSv con diferencia estadísticamente significativa:
p = 0.001.
Conclusiones. Se documenta la factibilidad de esta técnica de adquisición y la reducción significativa de las dosis de radiación. Esta información es similar a la reportada en estudios previos.
