Efecto de la exposición in vitro de espermatozoides humanos a cadmio (CdCl2)

RESUMEN
El desarrollo de actividades antropogénicas ha permitido la dispersión en el ambiente de metales pesados como el cadmio, evento que se encuentra relacionado con la disminución de la fertilidad masculina. Este estudio se realizó con la finalidad de determinar el efecto que tiene la exposición
in vitro de espermatozoides humanos a dicho metal. Se procedió a incubar espermatozoides humanos en presencia de CdCl
2 bajo concentraciones de 2 y 4 ppm, y se evaluaron movilidad y vitalidad espermática, integridad de membrana, capacitación espermática e integridad de la cromatina espermática. La exposición
in vitro a CdCl
2 causó un efecto significativo sobre los patrones de movilidad moderado (p = 0.01) e inmóvil (p ‹ 0.05); no se observó un efecto significativo sobre la vitalidad espermática, integridad de membrana, reacción acrosómica, e integridad de la cromatina espermática. El cadmio causa un efecto deletéreo sobre la movilidad espermática; sin embargo, no ocasiona alteraciones de la vitalidad espermática, integridad de membrana o de la estructura de la cromatina espermática bajo las concentraciones estudiadas
in vitro.
