Avances de la genética de la preeclampsia

RESUMEN
La preeclampsia es una enfermedad específica del embarazo que se distingue por presión arterial elevada y proteinuria después de la vigésima semana de embarazo, en la cual los componentes etiológicos pueden variar dependiendo de la población. Se ha propuesto que existen factores genéticos predisponentes, ya que algunos estudios de asociación sugieren que los polimorfismos en genes que codifican para diversos factores implicados en la regulación de la presión arterial participan en el origen de este síndrome, como: MTHFR, AGT, ACE, GSTP1, eNOS, TNF-α e IL-6, entre otros. La mayor parte de estos estudios se ha llevado a cabo principalmente en poblaciones sajonas y asiáticas con resultados diversos, lo que sugiere que sí existe relación entre los polimorfismos y el grupo étnico. El objetivo principal de esta revisión es mostrar el papel que juegan los factores genéticos en la preeclampsia, y los estudios realizados en población mestiza mexicana.
