Pólipo de Vanek o pólipo fibroide inflamatorio. Informe de un caso y revisión de la literatura

RESUMEN
Introducción: La intususcepción en un adulto debe hacer sospechar un tumor (benigno o potencialmente riesgoso); el diagnóstico certero es crucial para el tratamiento adecuado del paciente.
Caso clínico: Hombre de 42 años de edad con dolor abdominal en quien al realizar estudios de imagen se diagnosticó intususcepción de intestino delgado. El diagnóstico patológico fue pólipo fibroide inflamatorio (pólipo de Vanek).
Conclusiones: El pólipo de Vanek es una lesión benigna del estómago e intestino delgado. Es poco común y su etiología aún no está definida; el diagnóstico es básicamente morfológico auxiliado por inmunohistoquímica. Se considera maligno por sus consecuencias, que dependen del tamaño y la localización del tumor. El tratamiento es quirúrgico.
