Sueño y enfermedad de Parkinson

RESUMEN
El sueño es un componente vital definido con base al comportamiento individual y a la actividad eléctrica cerebral, se ha visto una relación entre las enfermedades neurodegenerativas como la enfermedad de Parkinson y trastornos del sueño.
Desarrollo: en esta revisión se analizaron datos de varios trastornos del sueño y su relación con la enfermedad de Parkinson que han sido publicados en diversos artículos; los trastornos estudiados son: insomnio, alteraciones del ritmo circadiano, apnea del sueño, síndrome de piernas inquietas y trastorno de movimientos periódicos de las extremidades, desorden del comportamiento del REM; así como, también se revisan los efectos del tratamiento antiparkinsoniano en los trastornos del sueño.
Conclusiones: los trastornos del sueño se encuentran con frecuencia asociados a la enfermedad de Parkinson, constituyendo una comorbilidad importante. Los trastornos del sueño podrían predecir la aparición a mediano y largo plazo de la enfermedad de Parkinson.
