FRAGMENTO
La obesidad como consecuencia de la resistencia a la insulina (RI), es la raíz de lo que se conoce como síndrome metabólico (SM) en la población adulta, se inicia desde la gestación por un mecanismo genético aún no dilucidado. Aunque se ha puesto en duda como entidad nosológica por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) en forma sindromática, sin duda es cierto.
