Síndrome de apnea obstructiva del sueño en población adulta

RESUMEN
El síndrome de apnea obstructiva del sueño es un problema mundial de salud pública; afecta alrededor del 3% de la población, se asocia a serias complicaciones, y genera elevados costos a los sistemas de salud. En este artículo revisamos aspectos generales de esta enfermedad y hacemos énfasis en la contribución que debe tener el neumólogo ante este problema masivo de salud pública que está directamente relacionado a la epidemia de obesidad.
