Secuencias funcionales en resonancia magnética (difusión, DTI, espectroscopia)

RESUMEN
Las secuencias funcionales de resonancia magnética (imágenes en difusión -DWI- , tensor de difusión –DTI-, espectroscopía –SRM- y perfusión –PRM-) son herramientas útiles, las cuales al sumarse con la resonancia magnética convencional dan como resultado una mayor capacidad diagnóstica elevando sensibilidad y especificidad para cada entidad patológica. El conocimiento de los principios físicos para cada tipo de secuencia, así como los artefactos que alteran la calidad de imagen y su pos procesamiento, son elementos que debe conocer el radiólogo para realizar una adecuada interpretación para cada caso. Desde finales del siglo pasado, en el cual se iniciaron estas secuencias especiales, se han sumado cada día más y más conocimientos a la resonancia magnética; el presente trabajo es una revisión de la literatura, que trata sobre los principios físicos de estas secuencias, artefactos que las afecta, así como explicar los cambios de intensidad de señal desde un punto de vista fisiopatológico y sus indicaciones.
