Con relativa frecuencia los anestesiólogos nos vemos confrontados con el dilema de si proceder o no a una intervención quirúrgica electiva, en un niño con rinorrea. McGill en 1979 reporta por primera vez complicaciones respiratorias en niños anestesiados con infección de vía aérea superior (IVAS).
