Introducción
La cirugía de reemplazo articular, específicamente de cadera y rodilla, ha demostrado un alto porcentaje de éxito proporcionando gran mejora a la calidad de vida, muy por encima de otros procedimientos quirúrgicos y médicos como la revascularización coronaria, la diálisis renal y los trasplantes de órganos al mismo tiempo, siendo un procedimiento altamente costo-efectivo.
