RESUMEN
La obesidad ha sido reconocida por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) como la Pandemia del siglo y la cataloga como el problema más grave de la Salud Pública que la humanidad enfrentará en el siglo XXI. Durante siglos, la humanidad luchó para superar escasez de alimentos vinculada a la pobreza y a la desnutrición, así como a las enfermedades asociadas a la carencia de los mismos.
