Dasatinib, una nueva molécula contra la leucemia

RESUMEN
El dasatinib (BMS-354825) es un inhibidor de la cinasa de tirosina BCR-ABL, cinasas SRC y otras cinasas oncogénicas. Es capaz de inhibir a 18 de 19 mutaciones BCR/ABL de las cinasas resistentes a su predecesor, el mesilato de imatinib. Impide la superproducción de las células cancerosas en la médula de los pacientes con leucemia granulocítica crónica o leucemia aguda linfoblástica con cromosoma Philadelphia+ que hayan mostrado resistencia o intolerancia a tratamientos anteriores con mesilato de imatinib (STI571) o nilotinib (AMN107).
