Síndrome de pseudoexfoliación y catarata: resultados visuales postoperatorios

RESUMEN
Objetivo: Describir factores y complicaciones que repercuten en la capacidad visual final (CVF) de pacientes con pseudoexfoliación, operados de catarata.
Material y métodos: Estudio retrospectivo, observacional y transversal que incluyó 75 ojos de 69 pacientes con síndrome de pseudoexfoliación, operados de catarata con implante de lente intraocular (LIO). Se determinó, por medio de un análisis multivariado, la presencia de correlación entre factores prequirúrgicos, complicaciones trans y postquirúrgicas y mala CVF.
Resultados: Se encontró una asociación estadísticamente significativa entre mala CVF y los siguientes aspectos: edad (p‹0.024), grado de pseudoexfoliación (p‹0.001), iridodonesis (p‹.031), ruptura de cápsula posterior (p‹0.006), pérdida de vítreo (p‹0.004) y descentración de LIO (p‹0.031). El análisis multivariado encontró asociación entre mala CVF y la edad del paciente (p‹0.010) y el grado de pseudoexfoliación (p‹0.001).
Conclusiones: La iridodonesis, ruptura de cápsula posterior, pérdida de vítreo y descentración influyen en la CVF de dichos pacientes; sin embargo, la edad y el grado de pseudoexfoliación fueron los factores de mayor repercusión en la mala CVF obtenida. El tipo de cirugía y la experiencia del cirujano no influyeron en el resultado visual final.
