Tumor phyllodes en un paciente pediátrico. Informe de un caso y revisión de la literatura

RESUMEN

Introducción: El tumor phyllodes representa 0.3 a 0.9 % de todos los tumores de mama, es particularmente inusitado en adolescentes, por lo general es unilateral y debido a su rareza, el pronóstico y el manejo no son claros. El objetivo de este reporte es presentar el caso de una niña con diagnóstico de tumor phyllodes benigno, y revisar la literatura en torno a este tipo de neoplasia.
Caso clínico: Niña de 11 años con diagnóstico de tumor phyllodes, en quien se inició el padecimiento cuatro meses antes del ingreso hospitalario. Se le realizó biopsia incisional y posteriormente mastectomía simple; el reporte histológico fue tumor phyllodes benigno. A un año de seguimiento, la paciente se encontraba en vigilancia libre de enfermedad.
Conclusiones: Los tumores phyllodes pequeños pueden ser resecados con márgenes de 1 cm, pero los grandes casi siempre requieren mastectomía simple. La correcta evaluación patológica de la neoplasia permite planear el mejor abordaje quirúrgico, pudiendo predecir futuras recurrencias.
