Biotecnología reproductiva: Avances en ganado bovino

FRAGMENTO
En la última década, la reproducción en ganado bovino ha evolucionado de manera acelerada, marcando el inicio de una nueva etapa. Esta se caracteriza por el desarrollo de una serie de técnicas que contribuyen a aumentar, en forma rápida, la capacidad reproductiva y de mejoramiento genético del ganado bovino. En esta especie, las técnicas para la manipulación del proceso reproductivo que han recibido mayor atención y desarrollo en los últimos cinco años son:
1. Ovulación Múltiple y Transferencia Embrionaria
2. Congelación de Embriones
3. Producción de Gemelos
4. Producción de Embriones in vitro
5. Multiplicación de Embriones
a. Por medio de Bisección o División
b. Por medio de Clonación o Transferencia Nuclear
6. Sexado de Embriones
7. Sexado de Fetos
8. Transferencia de Genes.
