RESUMEN

Se realiza un análisis de los pacientes ingresados en la Clínica de Lesiones Estáticas Encefálicas del Adulto del Centro Internacional de Restauración Neurológica, de Ciudad de la Habana, Cuba, durante el periodo de los años 2003 y 2004. La casuística está conformada por 242 pacientes ingresados, de los cuales 71 fueron portadores de crisis epilépticas (29.3%) y de éstos, ocho tuvieron crisis de debut durante su ingreso, lo que significó 3.30%. Se detallan las diferentes etiologías, en las que predomina la enfermedad cerebrovascular isquémica. Las crisis epilépticas se analizan por sus diferentes tipos y se revisa la literatura, por constituir una sintomatología frecuente en las casuísticas revisadas.
