Avances en síncope vasovagal: De la genética a la clínica

RESUMEN
Estudios recientes sugieren que el síncope vasovagal tiene un componente familiar significativo, lo que sugiere que cuando menos algunas formas puedan tener una causa genética. El receptor adrenérgico β
1 predomina en el corazón, determina la función cardíaca mediante la acción de las catecolaminas del sistema nervioso simpático. El papel de la genética en las manifestaciones fenotípicas del síncope vasovagal ha sido poco estudiado. Aquí revisamos las características de varias familias con varios miembros afectados con síncope vasovagal y los resultados de los estudios genéticos que investigan la existencia de polimorfismos en los receptores β
1-adrenérgicos que pudiesen estar asociados con el síncope vasovagal.
