La obesidad y la respuesta hiperreactiva bronquial y asma, ¿qué sucede primero?

RESUMEN
La asociación entre asma y obesidad está bien documentada, pero no hay estudios epidemiológicos que demuestren la prevalencia real de esta asociación.
La etiología es multifactorial, pero sin duda el tratamiento del sobrepeso y la obesidad influyen en forma positiva en el tratamiento del asma. Esta publicación revisa la literatura de la relación entre ambas entidades y establece propuestas de tratamiento en nuestro medio, basados en la probabilidad de que el sobrepeso y la obesidad aparezcan primero en la mayoría de los pacientes.
