Hipertensión arterial pulmonar tromboémbolica crónica

RESUMEN
La hipertensión arterial pulmonar tromboembólica crónica se presenta en una minoría de pacientes que han sufrido un episodio tromboembólico agudo previo. Sin embargo, su incidencia ha venido en aumento, considerándose hoy en día como una entidad no tan poco frecuente. En los últimos años ha existido un gran avance en el conocimiento de la fisiopatolología, el abordaje diagnóstico, así como en las alternativas terapéuticas que pueden ser ofrecidas a los pacientes no candidatos a tromboendarterectomía pulmonar, tratamiento definitivo y curativo en este subtipo de hipertensión arterial pulmonar. Esta revisión se enfoca al abordaje diagnóstico y tratamiento farmacológico actual en pacientes no candidatos a cirugía.
