Los conductismos en el panorama de la psicología contemporánea

RESUMEN

Aunque la revolución cognitiva se sigue presentando como la sustitución o reemplazo del conductismo en favor de la psicología cognitiva, la actual diversidad de propuestas conductistas es un claro ejemplo de que dicho reemplazo no sucedió. Por el contrario: aunque relegadas, las propuestas conductistas continúan floreciendo y ofrecen maneras particulares y sofisticadas de entender los fenómenos psicológicos. Muchos de ellos lo hacen de forma similar a como lo hacen aproximaciones de distinta raigambre. En este trabajo, mi intención es presentar la posición de los conductismos en el panorama de la psicología actual. Para ello, en primer lugar repasaré los argumentos y evidencias en contra de la idea de la revolución cognitiva, que se suele entender como un proceso de sustitución de paradigmas en el que el cognitivismo reemplazó al conductismo. En segundo lugar, expondré de manera muy breve las diversas propuestas clasificadas como conductismos, para después presentar, por medio de gráficos, su relación con otras formas de psicología -particularmente con ciertas formas de psicología cognitiva y psicobiología. Asimismo, expondré las relaciones entre los conductismos y otras teorías de la mente que también se centran en la interacción organismo-ambiente. Finalmente, en la conclusión presentaré algunas reflexiones sobre el papel que juegan los conductismos en la psicología contemporánea y lo que este tipo de ejercicios puede implicar para la psicología.
