Anemia por hematíes falciformes: fisiopatología a golpe de vista

FRAGMENTO
Las complicaciones asociadas a la anemia por hematíes falciformes (AHF) provocan un profundo impacto en la calidad de vida de las personas afectadas. El conocimiento de las bases moleculares de esta enfermedad motivó un gran número de estudios bioquímicos y genéticos que contribuyó a una mejor comprensión de su fisiopatología multifactorial.
Se pretende ofrecer en apretada síntesis “a golpe de vista” algunas de las alteraciones tanto moleculares como celulares que al actuar de forma sinérgica contribuyen a la intrincada y fascinante fisiopatología de la AHF.
