INTRODUCCIÓN
En la actualidad, el cáncer en niños ha alcanzado tasas de supervivencia
global mayores al 80% en países de ingresos altos, esto debido a las
estrategias de tratamiento eficaces como la quimioterapia; sin embargo,
estos agentes tienen efectos a corto, mediano y largo plazo.
La náusea y el vómito inducidos por la quimioterapia tienen una repercusión
física y emocional nociva, reportada incluso hasta en el 80%
de los pacientes2 en quienes afecta su calidad de vida porque altera
el equilibrio hidroelectrolítico, induce desnutrición, daña el aparato
gastrointestinal y disminuye o descontinúa el tratamiento.
