Cáncer colorrectal de inicio temprano

RESUMEN
Las tasas de muerte y aparición de CCR se incrementan rápidamente después de los 50 años. Sin embargo, en los últimos años la
incidencia de CCR en individuos de una edad menor de 50 (cáncer colorrectal de inicio temprano) se ha incrementado dramáticamente.
Se desconocen las causas de este fenómeno. Aunque los síndromes de cáncer hereditario y los antecedentes familiares de
CCR predisponen y explican algunos de los casos de inicio temprano, la mayoría de estos surgen esporádicamente, los cuales muy
probablemente están ligados a factores de riesgo de estilo de vida y ambientales. Los casos en jóvenes poseen características
clínico-patológicas y moleculares particulares. Suelen presentar características tumorales agresivas y un estado avanzado de la
enfermedad al diagnóstico. Por lo anterior, se requieren más estudios sobre la patogénesis de esta enfermedad además de estudios
sobre posibles factores de riesgo específicos para este subgrupo de pacientes.
