Esclerosis Múltiple asociada a la Enfermedad de Parkinson

RESUMEN
Introducción: La asociación entre la Enfermedad de Parkinson y la Esclerosis Múltiple es infrecuente, la hipótesis para explicarla sigue sin estar clara, los expertos debaten si existe o una relación causal o casual en estos casos.
Paciente de 53 años de edad diagnosticada con Enfermedad de Parkinson quien luego 10 años de evolución y con buena respuesta a la medicación dopaminérgicas, presenta un episodio ataxia la marcha, se le realiza RMN de Cráneo que muestra lesiones desmielinizante diseminadas, presentó buena respuesta a esteroides, se le diagnostico Esclerosis Múltiple. Se plantea en casos de parkinsonismo como manifestación de la EM, explicando por la presencia de una placa de desmielinización que afecta el circuito motor en la región de los ganglios basales (BG), apoyándose en su demostración imageneològica y/o en la respuesta farmacològica a esteroide. En caso que esto no ocurre se plantea una realacion coicidente, en el cual se debate si esto es únicamente casual o si existen mecanismos subyacentes como mecanismos inflamatorios y el papel de la , α-sinucleína en ambas enfermedades. El paciente presentó coincidentemente EP y EM. Las evidencias actuales son insuficientes para respaldar o refutar la teoría de un mecanismo subyacente en la presentación coincidente entre ambas patología.
