Foramen oval permeable. Definición del problema y tratamiento

RESUMEN
El foramen oval permeable se ha relacionado con una serie de enfermedades, dentro de las que destacan los eventos vasculares cerebrales, que tienen como común denominador el embolismo paradójico. Su principal problema es el riesgo de recurrencia que, en algunos casos, se ha visto aumentado hasta 33 veces con respecto a la población sin foramen oval permeable. El tratamiento es aún controvertido y se debate entre el uso de antiagregantes plaquetarios y anticoagulantes orales, la cirugía o el cierre con dispositivo. Analizamos los estudios más recientes sobre el tema.
