ABSTRACT
Cardiac-respiratory collapse is an urgent event frequently observed in the National Institute of Cardiology “Ignacio Chavez”, so a statistical data record about different aspects related to its treatment is required. The main goal is to obtain plenty of information about the participating team, identify suitable opportunities of getting material resources within reach, and know how to fulfill reanimation practices according to the established American Heart Association standards. This data base also allows to set up training programs and detect alterations presented during basic and advanced cardiac and pulmonary reanimation. To create this base it was projected to apply a collecting data form which can request situations from de moment each cardiac-respiratory collapse shows up, establishing that if this sheet supplies useful data, it has to be constantly employed in hospitalization services. Such a tool was applied and further analyzed according to different variables and indicators collected in a number of areas of the National Institute of Cardiology “Ignacio Chavez”, during the period going from June 1 to October 11, 1996, with the occurrence of sixty urgent cardiovascular cases. 88.33 per cent of the occurring cases were assisted under urgency conditions. From them, 44.66 per cent were intubated, finding out that 45 per cent of the cases had already been intubated , cause of the critical state they presented. It is proved that the argued hypothesis may be successful because cardiac-respiratory collapse sheet allows to collect general, truthful and reliable information about performed facts and activities. There is some kind of scarce level of difficulty to fill in the sheet, and it is necessary to divulge sheet existence and how to fill in and file it among every member of the staff.REFERENCES
