ABSTRACT
Giles de Tourette disorder (SGT) is a developmental
disorder characterized by the presence of heterogeneous
motor alterations in its frequency and intensity. There is
both psychiatric and cognitive comorbidity that makes
it difficult for patients who suffer from it to have an
adequate clinical approach. Among the most frequent
disorders reported in the SGT are Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder (OCD), however, the presence
of 2 or more diagnoses has been scarcely reported.
We present the case of a 16-year-old adolescent
diagnosed with SGT, ADHD and OCD at 7, 9 and 12
years respectively. The patient has a history of school
difficulty, behavioral rituals and problems related to
attention and self-monitoring. In order to characterize
its profile, a neuropsychological assessment was carried
out, which showed difficulty in attentive skills and
self-monitoring previously reported by the literature.
However, there are some contradictory findings as
expected in a patient with this syndrome. It is clear to
the authors that the difficulties in their daily life are
related to aspects of attention rather than executives
or memory.
