ABSTRACT
The infirmary work method oriented to the Virginia Henderson attention model focuses on actions, individualizing the care towards the patient, starting from the concept that the individual has fourteen basic needs which must be satisfied to be healthy. For this reason it is basic and extremely important to establish systematized schemes of evaluation with this theoretical approach which will allow the infirmary professional to carry out opportune and correct interventions in the care of the cardiovascular surgery patient. The following proposal gathers the fundamental elements of the Virginia Henderson attention models, applied to the exhaustive and focalized evaluation in the mediate and immediate postoperative period of the patient that has undergone cardiovascular surgery as an attempt to promote and guide the evaluation and application for methodologic concepts during infirmary labors developed in Intensive Care Units where this type of patients are treated.
