ABSTRACT
Dilated myocardiopathy is included in the group of unknown cause diseases. Its morphological characterization consists in dilating the four cardiac cavities, giving place to cardiac failure. Recently, a relationship between inflammatory state, apoptosis, and certain infections conditions from viral origin has been established. This has allowed designing therapeutic strategies with immunomodulatory drugs and steam cells transplantation.
