ABSTRACT
The study of cases with prolonged, recurrent or of unknown origin fever in Pediatrics represents a real challenge for
the clinician. In this, endless difficulties can arise in order to determine the cause, for this it is necessary to expand the
differential diagnosis and thus be able to distinguish banal processes of prolonged duration, of more complex pictures. It
causes great anxiety in the patients and the relatives but also in the physicians who sometimes face great inconsistencies
in the evolution of the patient because these pictures are variegated, which will eventually lead to the diagnosis of fictitious
fever in pediatrics. Careful evaluation of the clinical picture and thorough questioning of the family can indicate the
correct investigation route and the approach of each case.
