ABSTRACT
Introduction: the research process enables the communication of built knowledge and the dissemination of experiences, especially in current technological conditions. Objective: to describe the metric indicators that Google Academic provides on the medical journal MediCiego between 2014 and 2018.
Methods: a bibliometric study was carried out on the scientific production published in the journal MediCiego, in the period 2014-2018. For the retrieval of citations and the calculation of metric indicators such as the H and G indices, the Publish or Perish software was used.
Results: MediCiego received 157 citations with an average of 31,40, 0,9 and 54,13 citations per year, article and author respectively. It obtained a value of five for the H and G indices. The article by López-Martín D and co-authors stood out, with an average of 2,5 citations per year. The articles that contributed the most to the H index were by the main authorship of: Antúnez-Baró A, Díaz-Pérez D, Pérez-Díaz M, Delgado-Fernández R and Rodríguez-Martín O; in the years 2014 and 2015.
Conclusions: there was an increase in the number of citations to the articles and in other metric indicators, which shows greater productivity of the authors and visibility of the journal. Issues related to the main health problems in which the National Health System establishes and develops research and service management policies predominated.
